Ogombo Multi-Unit Residential Development
This project is a multi-unit residential development located in the urban area close to Alasela Palace, Ogombo, Ajah, Lagos.
The site presented a major engineering challenge due to its swampy terrain and proximity to a canal, requiring careful structural planning and ground stabilization before construction commenced.
Midhousepro Limited was engaged to deliver a durable and structurally sound development that could withstand the site’s difficult soil conditions while maximizing residential utility.
Due to the swampy nature of the land, extensive groundwork was carried out before the foundation phase.
We excavated the weak pit soil to a depth of 1 meter, removing unstable ground material.
The excavated area was then backfilled with high-quality sharp sand, followed by proper mechanical compaction to achieve the required soil density and stability for structural loading.
This process was critical in preparing the land for long-term building performance.
To ensure maximum stability, we designed and executed a 1.7-meter reinforced concrete raft foundation, including a German floor slab system.
This reinforced foundation system was specifically selected to distribute building loads evenly across the improved soil base and provide resistance against settlement commonly associated with swampy terrain.
The structural solution was designed to deliver long-term durability despite the challenging environmental conditions.
